Who are they?
Currently based out of New Delhi, Shivan & Narresh have integrated their distinctly bold, confidant & sophisticated signature style with an undisputed eye for detail and an urban savoir faire.
They launched the brand Shivan & Narres in Cannes at ‘Mare di Moda’ with their 100% stitch free line called Insectoid, after graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi and completing their Masters in Milan & Rome at the Istituto Europeo di Design. After the launch in Cannes, the duo shifted their studio to India, and have become the first main-stream beachwear designers doing 100% handcrafted stitch-free beachwear along with ready-to- wear swimwear made all in 100% Italian fabrics and complementing resort-wear. This has guaranteed them ‘pioneer’ status and is leading to their meteoric rise as a fast emerging generation of cult designers in India.
They were discovered in 2006 by MITTELMODA, based in Gorizia, Italy through Mittelmoda International Beachwear Awards in Bali while still in university at New Delhi. And they haven’t looked back since.
What are they currently working on?
With their new FESTIVE 2011 collection they explore a long tradition thats exists in fiction, of men attempting to create the stereotypical ideal woman, forever focused solely on archaic attributes that seem to stem from the minds of these very creators. ‘Gynoid’ is a glimpse into the imagination of Shivan & Narresh, where they focus on portraying the image of the perfect Shivan & Narresh woman. A woman of the future, who is free from this world, which constantly treats her as a mere tool of procreation and enforces this idea to be her only identity. She takes over the cold hued world with her vibrant appearance dominated by a color palette of coral, sea green & turquoise fused with somber mauves, nudes & lace.
Where can you find them?
Currently their studio is based in New Delhi, besides which they are selling to private clients and retail out of select stores and resorts in India.
